Special Services

Products requiring special handling can be accommodated at our terminal.

Special services include:

Additional charges apply for these services. Ask your Carolinas [ReLoad] sales rep for more information about Energy Surcharges and how they might apply to your move.

*Railcar heating is subject to an energy surcharge

Energy Surcharge

If your product requires heat application services during the transload process, an Energy Surcharge will be added to each associated invoice.

For each hour your product requires heat, Carolinas [ReLoad] generates an Energy Surcharge fee that will appear on each associated invoice. For example, for every $0.03 increase in the price of diesel fuel, an additional $0.50/hour surcharge will apply.

The surcharge is indexed on the “U.S. No. 2 Diesel Retail Sales by All Sellers” and is based on the August 29, 2022 diesel fuel rate ($5.12/gallon).

The energy surcharge rate changes on the first day of each month, and is based on the prior Monday’s posting of the U.S. No. 2 Diesel Retail Sales by All Sellers.
